Dr Hana Kanan, AIE Trustee - Director of The International Academy-Amman
Dr. Kanan is currently the Director of The International Academy-Amman a pre-k-12 International school.
Dr Kanan serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Council of International Schools (CIS), a member of the Board of Queen Rania Foundation, a member of the Board for the accreditation and classification of private schools in Jordan, a member of the Board of the Sukhtian Foundation; and a member of the executive committee for the National Center for the Curriculum Development in Jordan. Previously Dr. Kanaan served as MEIBA president for two rounds, and served on the Board of the Albanian Colleges.
Dr. Hana Kanan graduated from a local public school in Nablus, Palestine. She earned her BA degree in English Literature and Education from the Jordan University in Amman, a Master’s Degree from Birzeit University in Curriculum and Instruction and an M.Ed. & Ed.D from Teachers College, Columbia University in Educational Leadership.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hana worked as a Teacher, Teachers' Trainer, College Instructor, Director, and managing Director in different educational institutions in varying geographical locations, such as: USA, Qatar, Indonesia and UAE. Her experience ranges from working in some of the most prominent and resourceful international programs and schools, to inner-city disadvantaged public schools and refugee camps. Dr. Kanan's research focuses on motivation, mentoring, educational training and international schooling.
